FAQ

A few answers to common questions

What makes CommandeX products different from others on the market?

SecureView Eclipx Stainless Steel and Xceed Perforated Aluminium Security Screens are unlike any other on the market. This is primarily due to our unique patented fixing system. We use 3M VHBTM chemical bonding where we are able to remove the need for screws and rivets that can cause corrosion. This chemical bonding is the same product used on commercial aircraft wings, skyscrapers, even on the roof of T5 at Heathrow airport, so we know it’s strong.

What is the difference between SecureView Eclipx and Xceed?

Both types of Security Screens surpass the vigorous testing required for Australian Security Standards. SecureView Eclipx is our top of the range 316 marine grade stainless steel security screens. This is perfect for coastal living, areas prone to bush fire or those looking for a beautifully woven mesh that blends effortlessly into any façade.

Xceed is our more economical security screen solution, using perforated aluminium panels that are extremely durable, corrosion resistant and energy smart. Xceed is a perfect replacement to the outdated Diamond Grille Safety Door.

What gives SecureView Eclipx its steadfast strength?

SecureView Eclipx works smarter to achieve effortless strength and durability. There are two key differentiating elements that give superior strength to SecureView Eclipx security screens. Firstly, SecureView Eclipx’s high grade black stainless steel mesh (T316) is expertly woven to create a robust, yet understated, secure screen. Second is the unity of 3M™’s high performance VHB™ adhesive and extreme pressure. This unique method delivers an enviable balance of strength and aesthetics that will add value to your home now and into the future.

What is Marine Grade Stainless Steel?

The SecureView Eclipx patent design employs the finest T316 marine grade stainless steel mesh. This is the same metal composition specified by performance yacht manufacturers on crucial fittings and cables. 316 marine grade stainless steel has a higher tensile than 304 steel, and it also yields a significantly greater resistance to corrosion than 304. This makes SecureView Eclipx perfect for the Australian environment, including coastal regions.

Will your security screens on my windows block my light?

SecureView Eclipx’s innovative weave design works to reduce glare and heat, without forfeiting your natural light. The mesh is powdercoated black to reduce glare, this also makes the screens easier to look through.

Will I be able to retain my view?

Despite their strength SecureView Eclipx and Xceed security screens have an elegant translucence that allows you to showcase your views and bring a sense of the outdoor into your home.

Will SecureView Eclipx or Xceed inhibit my airflow?

Your SecureView Eclipx or Xceed security screens will allow the breeze to flow through your home. SecureView Eclipx and Xceed security on your doors and windows allows you to open your home with peace of mind, making it a clever investment for summer.

Is SecureView Eclipx and Xceed insect proof?

SecureView Eclipx’s woven mesh keeps out all manner of insects, from flies to mosquitoes. With a weave only slighter larger than a standard flyscreen, SecureView Eclipx will keep most insects out of the home.
Xceed’s hole aperture is only .625mm bigger than that of SecureView Eclipx, therefore also providing you with protection from most insects.

How should I care for my SecureView Eclipx and Xceed screens?

Maintaining your SecureView Eclipx and Xceed security screens is simple. There is no need for harsh chemical cleaners, simply use our microfibre cleaning cloth to thoroughly wipe over during your regular cleaning regimen. Our recommended cleaner is a ‘soft’ cleaner such as dishwashing liquid. Your local expert will be able to provide you with a CommandeX cleaning mitt, which has been specifically designed to make cleaning your security screens as simple as possible.
